Is it considered a fever when you have the temputure of 100.4 for a adult?

  • i beleive it's considered low grade. i'm not a dr, but i've been told that it's usually at 101. even when i worked in daycare centers, we couldn't send them home unless their temp was 101 or higher.

  • Yes, it is a fever. You should stay home until you have been fever-free (under 100) for 24 hours; your immune system is weakened and you need to avoid picking up a secondary infection.

    Get lots of sleep and stay well-hydrated. Feel better!!

  • 100.4+ is a fever. 103.6 should get immediate medical attention. That's for any age, from 6 months up.
