pregnancy test question?

so i finely found out i was pregnant this month i took one test in the morning it was strong positive it was out of a box of three i took the other two the same day they also were very strong positives . two days later i wasn't feeling any symptoms so i took another test a single box test and it was a faint positive and then another from another box both at night with different sensitivities stating as soon as 4 days before missed period,i am 8 days late. which i believe that would make me 5 weeks pregnant. i took to more tests tonight in hope that the results would be stronger i took two tests each one box tests. they both were also faint very faint positives. i am affraid that with each increasing day that sooner or later i'll test and it will be a negative completely. is this what a chemical or ectopic pregnancy is like. i've miscarried years ago and that was awful with pain and bleeding, i am not experiencing any of that.

  • A lot goes into the line on a pregancy test, including how diluted your urine is (may vary from test to test) and the sensitivity of the individual test (even two same brand tests in the same box may have different sensitivity thresholds.) Really the only way to know what your hormones are doing are to ask your doctor for a blood test- a quantitative beta hcg test will check the level of pregnancy hormone in your blood. Two tests 48 hours apart are often done in early pregnancy to check the doubling rate of the hormone. In a normal early pregnancy, beta hcg counts should 'roughly' double every 48-72 hours. The tests really aren't meant to be interpreted the way you are reading them- instead of putting yourself through needless worry, get a blood test done! HTH and wishing you a happy and healthy nine months!

  • if it says positive of any shade than you are your doc if you are worried/unsure let them do a blood test! Plus, since you have had a miscarrage in the past they may even want to do a vaginal ultrasound...then you would really be sure....good luck!

  • If there is a line, no matter how faint, it means you are pregnant. You either have the hormone or you don't. Whether or not the embryo stuck is something only your doctor would be able to tell you. Good luck
