Teething son has bruised gums? Normal?

My 13 month old is getting his top molars. While getting him ready for bed tonight I noticed his gums on top are swollen and have a blueish color, as if its bruised. I was thinking its from the molars coming in (poor baby, teething is torture :[ ) Did this happen to your child at all? Could it be from the molars or could it be something else?

  • He could have very well bruised his gums ... I would have his dr take a look tho... one of dd's did this too but caused her front gums to bleed while teething ... she use to bite on the rail of her crib...
I took her in just to be on the safe side and make sure that that is all it was her teething...
Teething is rough on some kids.... poor babies...
