Cold sore?

How do you get them in your mouth? How do you get rid of them? Why is it so painful? First one I have had since being a lil kid!

  • Cold sores are a virus- the herpes virus (the same virus as the STD, but usually passed along by kissing relatives as a child) It's painful because it's an ulcer. You don't get rid of them- your body has the virus, and a cold sore can break out at any time- usually when you are stressed or already sick. I'm told Abreva (OTC) works well to help shorten it!
