Any other mom struggling with baby cereal in the morning?

I have a 1 year old and he's clearly getting bored with his oatmeal/multigrain baby cereal. I believe we are supposed to give it to them up to 2 years old...for the iron intake. I've mixed fruits in it etc...but he still hardly want to finish 4 tablespoons anymore. Any tricks or tips?

  • Mine quit cold turky at about 8 months. I give her cream of wheat now and she likes it a lot. Its also got lots of iron. Good Luck :)

  • Just make him regular oatmeal, they have many types. Or you could make plain oatmeal and put a little brown sugar in it

  • Your toddler can get plenty of iron from other foods. My son LOVES black beans and they have iron in them. So do Cheerios. If you really want to stick with the cereal, Stoneybrook makes an organic baby yogurt with fruit and cereal mixed in it.

  • I haven't given my son baby cereal since he was like 8 months old.... I give him regular oatmeal or cream of wheat for cereals.

  • he probably is bored and doesn't need only baby cereal til he's 2. you can do normal cereal, at that age my son loved the gerber cereal bars or jelly toast or oatmeal, scrambled eggs ( if you introduced them yet ) or pancakes..

  • Eggs, hummus, beans, make pancakes or waffles from whole grains, avocado and tofu chunks, etc.

  • We never did cereal at all. It made my daughter sick... cheerios, nutrigrain bars, pancakes, yogurt, are other good breakfast ideas...
