  • Well, my son is only 15 months, but the only time he's had candy was on Halloween, and he'll probably have some on Christmas too. Other than that, he doesn't get any.

  • I try to avoid giving them candy. but the IL's seem to think that dental bills are not a big deal. ...so I do give them candy much but my IL's do.

  • My daughters are 4 years old and I give them candy every day. Their dr says they can have some every day since they're so healthy and I give them some candy-like snack in the afternoon.

  • About once a week. We generally do not keep candy in the house, or dh and I will eat it and neither of us needs it. We don't have cookies or desserts very often either.
I am amazed at the kinds of candy and treats that are sent to school for lunch. At my son's school they have no hot lunch program, so all lunches are from home. My child get a sweet treat about once a month, he is always complaining because the other kids get all kinds of crap in there lunches everyday and he wants that junk too.

  • Well, I think parents make a big deal out of the whole candy and junk issue. I think since a kid is perfectly healthy, having a reasonable amound of candy per day is ok. I'm not saying they should get bid amounds but 3-4 m&ms a day can't hurt them.
