  • Only if they want them. I would say girls and boys past a certain age need the privacy, so it's up to the family what to do and when.

  • While they are young its ok for them to be in the same room, it would teach them how to share. When they get old enough to where they want personal space than yea they should get there own room.

  • Yes, I think it teaches independance and gives them room to express themselves and have a personal area to relax and be alone.

  • My oldest is 9, my 2nd joy is 6, and they have their own rooms. For now my dt share a room(fraternal twins/boy/girl)they're 3. The twins refuse to sleep alone so that's why they share, well also because the older 2 need their space/ and privacy(to an extent).

  • I think sharing a room teaches them how to share and live with other people because if they go to college they're gonna have to learn how to live with another person. But I think after a certain age kids should have their own room.

  • If they really want it that way, sure. But if they are still so young that they don't mind sharing a room, leave it be.

  • My daughters are identical twins so they have been more or less treated like one by most ppl. The used to share a room since about a week ago when they asked for seperate bedrooms. Now each one has her own room- they decorated their rooms as they wanted, they have their own space etc. But they can't really sleep without each other at night yet. We're working on that part!!

  • Yes and no.
I think as small children its great to have them share a room with a sibling. However when they are older(like over 10/11)then their own room is a nice idea if doable.

  • sure, unless there is a really good use for the space, i think i would let them have their own rooms unless i really needed an office or something else that the parent find necessary.
