Best Labor and delievery in Newark New Jersey?

I am tring to find the best one. I dont like University hospitals. I did find St. Micheals but I could find anything saying if they even had a labor and delievery wing.
Does anyone know? Oh yes I DID google it too. Still couldnt find anything. I have 15 weeks to figure this all out LOL.
Thanks in advance.

  • There is a CNM that does homebirths! If you don't like the hospitals, home is the place to be! She has a nice website. Many insurances will pay for homebirths.

  • You might try asking a doula, La Leche League Leader, or Lamaze instructor. You could find all of those by doing a google search. That's what I would try.

  • Why not try to find a nice midwife or birth center instead... ? Hospitals all have nasty induction and c/s rates.

  • NO they cant force me to. You cant be forced in to it if you dont want to.
I have had 2 children and had them both with NO medications NO inductions and NO csection.

  • So if you didn't need the hospital why be in one? Birth centers are often next door to hospitals and you could have a lovely waterbirth or something without all the humbaloo of the hospital but the "safety" of being so close to one you wouldn't have to worry about emergencies. It takes them time to prep an OR. Birth centers have lower infection rates than hospitals.
