Crawling backwards??

My son is 8 months old and only crawls backwards he has been doing this for 2 weeks now. He has never gone forward, is that weird??

  • I think crawling backwards must be easier because they are pushing, where as crawling forward they are pulling more. All three of mine crawled backwards first and within a month, they were pro's at crawling forward. My 5 month old just started crawling backwards but doesn't use her knees yet. She's not quite sure how to get up on them... so I bet as soon as she figures that out, she'll be flinging herself forward! lol!

  • They all do it. He'll go forward eventually, don't worry. I remember my son always backed himself under the coffee table,

  • Hang in there, he will get it soon. Lots of babies crawl backwards first.

  • my son started crawling backwards at 5 months. but 6 months he was crawling normal and eeeeverywhere. :) It's normal.

  • nope my dd used to crwl baxckwards and one day she crawl forward. nest thing i knew she was walking

  • my daughter has the weirdest crawl. she scoots backwards and not on her knees but uses her feet and shes 7 months. i dont think theres aonything to worry about :)
