cherry flavored vitamin drops for a 5 week old??

my doctor prescribed vitamin drops for my 5 week old baby- said they were giving them to every baby

they are cherry flavored with a list of ingredients

what the hell? really? babies are supposed to take these? help! I thought breastmilk was ALL the baby could have.

this has got

glycerin, purified water, polysorbate 80, cherry flavor, sodium hydroxide, sodium benzoate, methylparaben, potassium citrate, caramel

  • No way would I give that to a baby that young! That's the weirdest thing I've ever heard...

  • I definitely would not give that to my baby. Maybe a 10 month old. In my opinion, and I am not a medical professional, a nursing baby needs to nurse. My kids never got supplemental vitamins until the were 2.

  • I would not give that to a baby. If your baby has vitamin deficiencies, you can get non-toxic alternatives (try a health food store or whole foods)
