  • mine was born 10 lbs so i think by 2 months she was about that much. she was really chubby until about 5 months then her weight started to level out. she's 12 months now and weighs 22 lbs. as long as your doctor isn't concerned and her height is somewhat proportionate with her weight i wouldn't worry.

  • well that big was your baby at daughter at birth was 8 pounds 14 ounces, then my son at birth was over nine pounds. So it really depends on your babies birth weight.

  • "she was born 6 pounds 6 oz "

Wow. For HER that *is* don't look for doubling birth weight till the first year. But...if you or Dad are tall people then she's programmed to be on the large side.

  • I thought they doubled at 6 months

  • Yes - a lot of people now say double at 6 months, triple at a year (if you only double at a year, that means you'd have a lot of 16,17 lbs one year olds, and there aren't that many). My kids never doubled by six months, or tripled by a year - they were all 11 lbs and some change at their 2 month checkup even though they ranged in birth weight from 7 lbs 7 oz to 8 lbs 9 oz.
