I'm 90% effaced and 39 weeks preggo. Does that mean when I'm 100% effaced that my water will break?

  • Not necessarily. I had 3 vaginal births, and my water never broke on it's own - they always had to do it manually before I started pushing.

  • nope. my water broke with my seocnd and i was 50: effaced
    with dd i was 80: effaced and did had to break my water

  • No, water breaking doesn't necessarily have to do with that. For some it never breaks (baby comes out in the sac, intact). And for most, it breaks later on, during labor.
