  • I gave her cereal at five months, as suggested by my doctor. It took her a while to catch on to eating solids though

  • Nope. Used it on a sick parakeet, though!

Mashed banana was our first food, at six months when the open gut was closed.

  • Nope. Started on pureed veggies around 8 mos. Even then, he only ate a few bites every few days. He began eating a bit more regularly around 11 mos.

  • I did with my first - at 6 months. It was only after that that I learned about cereal having zero nutritional value, so with my son we skipped it and went straight to mashed veggies and fruits at 6 months.

  • 6 months is the recommended age to start solid foods. Let your baby guide you though!
