My son will be turning 1 next Wednesday...

I wanted to know how soon is too soon to introduce cow's milk? In other words, can I give him a little bit today or should I wait until he turns 1 exactly? And after he turns 1 can I give it to him right away or should I wait maybe a week or two? So too be so confusing, but that is what I am. lol

  • Check with your doctor, and try a little to make sure he is not allergic.

  • I started on their birthday, but I'm sure you can start now. I mixed a bottle 1/4 milk 3/4 formula for a few days. Then 1/2 and 1/2 for a few days. Then 3/4 milk 1/4 formula. Use whole milk. The whole thing took about a week.

  • I breastfed my son until he was 12 months old but I introduced vitamin D milk a week or two before he turned 1. Just make sure you keep that as the only thing new in his diet so you can spot any possible signs of allergies.

  • You don't have to give cow milk at all.
