Need Gift Ideas!

I have found a lady with children ages 8 (boy) and 2 (girl) and she can't afford to give them any gifts for Christmas. I am not wealthy, but I refuse to just stand by and let this be. I want to buy them some things, but it has been SOOOOO long since my children were this age, what are some good ideas for gift items that are in these days?

  • For boys that age I would go w/active type stuff like balls etc and for the little girl maybe a baby doll etc. God bless you for your generosity this Christmas season!

  • New 8yr old LOVES getting new pajamas, and its something that this children may very well need too. For the boy, books, games (like UNO, Battleship) or a kid movie. For the little girl, some dolls or a stuffed animal and new pajamas too.

  • I think I would tend to go a lttle "generic" on tjhe gifts....not any cartoon characters, or themes....since you dont really know what they like. Does the mom KNOW that you are getting them gifts? maybe a gift card intead so she can pick them out???
8 Year old boys usually LOVE anything Nerf, board games, sports gear, etc. They DONT want to be treated like "babies" - they think they are older than they really are. Electronic hand-held games are always good too.
2 year old girl love almost anything "girly"...dress up, princesses, dolls, baby strollers, etc.

  • The Mom does know...she wouldn't tell me what they like because she felt bad....she agreed, but says nothing too big.
