What's a good sweet white wine that you can pick up at the grocery store?

I would like to purchase some wine for Christmas and I prefer white wine over red. A few of my friends are into "sweeter drinks" so I'm looking for a 'non-dry' sweet white wine that we will all be happy with. Can anyone help me out with a few names?

  • With a meal, I would go with a German reisling or a Spanish cava (sprarkling). For dessert or just sipping, you might light a German Spatlese or Auslese

  • Probably not at your grocery store, but I like Reisling. It's white and sweet and good.

  • Or you could always do a Spumante Champange. I buy Asti Spumante. Oh, another white wine I just thought of is Kani wine. Not sure of the maker. I live in wine country as you can tell! I love wine...

  • You should be able to find a reisling at your grocery store, even if they don't have a great wine section. Also, White Zinfindel is a sweeter wine that would work.

  • The grocery stores in PA don't sell alcohol :(

But, for holidays & special occasions I just love Prosecco. I also like White Zinfandel, but, that just doesn't have the same holiday feel.
