  • my son takes a nap, if not a nap then a rest in his room. if not, we have one hell of an evening. i never understood parents that don't have their toddlers take naps. even working at daycare the 4-5yr olds took one...

  • Yes absolutely!!! They should nap until they go to school. They need the extra rest. Many toddlers will try to wean themselves off of nap time but keep on being persistent. And even if they don't sleep they should still have quiet time.

  • Yes they should, sleep is great for brain development, and my almost 5 year old still takes a nap, someone--ie,,your friend wants exhausted kids who sleep all night--LOL!

  • i think it depends on the child, if they want to nap for an hour or two let them. or if they're cranky try to get them to take a nap.

  • My 17 month old takes 2 naps per day. I don't anticipate her not napping when she turns two. She may go down to one nap per day though...

  • My 22 month old still takes 2 naps most days. I'm in no hurry for her to give them up. A well rested toddler makes for much more pleasent mommy.

  • it depends on the child and the total amount of sleep per day. Mine is 2 1/2 and rarely takes a nap anymore. she could use one in the evenings, but then bed time would be too close so she just goes to bed a little ealier. I put her down and try but she just won't sleep much during the day anymore. I know she sleeps some at day care, but even there it's about an hour or so after the other kids fall asleep that she'll go to sleep.
