Ok we are trying to buy our home.. My question is does an appraiser come before closing or at closing? Me and my husband really need to know.. We feel like were getting the run around.. We really love our home we've been leasing and the price of the home is 149.000.

  • i havent bought a house myself, but anything i see on tv, the appraiser comes before closing. a lot of times the house needs to be appraised before the bank will decide to give the loan.

  • The house is always appraised before the loan is approved.

  • Always before closing. Do not sign any documents before you see an appraisal and a home inspection I would add.

  • The house is appraised before a closing date is set. You cannot set a closing date, or close before it is appraised.

  • Always before. If the apprasal is less than selling price, the loan will often be denied or the price will have to decrease. Be sure to get the inspection too!!! Very important to find any potential issue that house may have.

  • Maybe check out a few real estate books before jumping into this. You could a killer deal, but only if you know what's going on.

  • Do you have any friends who are real estate agents who would look over the deal?
