I have a 16-month old boy and...

since he was just a newborn, I've been putting him to bed and he's been sleeping by him self. No rocking him, no lullabys, just baby music. The past 3 days has been screaming his lungs out for hours before he falls asleep.

Why do u think he does that?

  • maybe he just needs some extra "mommy time".. or could he be teething at all? i dunno hun... try letting him "burn" some more energy in the evenings. then give him a bath with that night time bath soap. good luck

  • He could be having night terrors... I don't know what your night time routine is, but try giving him a warm bath, with lavender soap, and maybe a little baby massage afterwards. But if they really are night terrors, all you can do is just go in there, soothe him, and put him back to sleep. Good luck.

  • Maybe he doesn't need as much sleep and isn't tired? My 13 month old just dropped his morning nap, and although he has trouble making it until after lunch he was having trouble going to sleep in the afternoons when he did take a morning one.

  • He could have an ear infection - it hurts to lay down when you have one.

  • my guess would be ear infection/teething/or not a full belly.

  • Yeah maybe an ear infection.
or he might just need more mommy time, try to cuddle with him for a while, either in his room, or in your room or something
I know my son got like really needy and wanted lots of cuddetime

  • mine son just started that a week ago took him to dr and he had an ear infection... he never even messed with his ear either so maybe check into that

  • According to my son's Pediatrician this is the time for night terrors, and the peak of separation anxiety. My son does the same thing, but when Wade was about three months old he got really sick and ended sharing the "family bed" until he was about a year. We have been "crib training" him since August. Its hard but it will eventually stop, just dont give up or in and give lots of cuddles. Good Luck Hun!
