For those that BF..... When did your period come back?

I still have no signs of one. My DS is 8 months.
When did yours finally come back and was it bad since you didnt have one for so long?

  • It came back about 9 months PP. I breastfed for 8 months.

  • I breastfed for 3 months and it came back 3 months later,but it was very very light and almost a brownish color ( i know tmi lol).

  • With my first, it came back at 18 months. Normal and very regular.

    I'm now 9 months in with my second and it's not here yet.

  • #1 I BF til she was 9months - period was back around 12months.
    #2 I BF til 5months - period was back around 11months
    #3 I BF til 12 months and my period started a month or so later.

  • i weaned my lil one at 16months and got mine back until 2 weeks after i stoped breastfeeding she is 18 months now and i only bleed that one time...but i am also on the depo shot.

  • #1 weaned at 18 months while I was pregnant and period came back around 15 months.
    #2 still nursing at 29 months and period returned about 14 months.

    It varies widely for women, but around 6-12 months is considered normal. It also depends on how often you nurse versus pump (If you pump at all) and your sleeping arrangements (co sleeping tends to keep it away longer). If you give a pacifier, how many solids, etc.

  • i'm one of the unlucky ones who did not have the benefit of absent periods- aunt flo was there like clockwork the whole way through (and I EBF- didn't pump either)... guess i'm weird.

    my sis has never gotten hers back before the 10th month with any of her 5.

  • I got mine back at 5 months the first time and 3 months the second time, and I was exclusively breastfeeding (no supplementing, no pumping, and no solids). That sucked!
