Where does the unclaimed child support money go?

My husband has been paying child support to his ex-wife and son for 10 years even though we haven't heard from her or his son the whole time. We recently found them and she says she never got any of the money but didn't have any contact with the friend of the court and only went through the process to get insurance for their son back when they split. Where does it go and can she still get it now? They should have a VERY nice Christmas if she can still get it!

  • It should be in a child support account at the county clerk's or wherever they do child support payments where you live. She should be able to go get it all and fill out a form to start having it put in her bank account. That will be a nice check.
