How far in advance can I bake pumpkin, apple and blueberry pies and theys till be good for christmas day?

We're heading to my parents x-mas eve and I just have too much to do so the sooner I can bake them the better.

No I can't bake them there. I already asked.

  • I would wait as long as possible. For pies the fresher the better, the crust tends to get soggy or stale. Pumpkin pies mold within a few days. I never make pies to serve other people more than a day ahead. Can you make a different dessert? Some cakes do better, and cookies freeze well.

  • Eww, thanks for that. Mold is definitely not good. I've been recruited to make pies....and lots of them... *yay*

    I guess I'll just make up the fillings and refrigerate them and crusts too and just throw them all together Wednesday night. Thanks :)
