  • There are a few ways... you can start with "don't offer, don't refuse"... which is just as it sounds. You can drop a feeding every week or two, or as fast as every few days (you want enough time for your supply to adjust before dropping the next feeding).

Don't expect her co-operation if you use a quicker method and expect her comfort boob grabbing to get worse. You might try to introduce a lovey. Is there a reason you want to wean early? There are many benefits to continue nursing! ;)

  • Check out Weaning at One

If you have started giving solids you have already started the weaning process as breastfeeding is gradually being replaced with solid foods.  This process will continue as baby gets older (more food, less breastfeeding) until baby stops breastfeeding altogether.

  • If you've introduced solids, you HAVE started the process. Drop one feeding per week till gone if you want to speed things up.
