Is this a good democrat?

Rep. Parker Griffith, a freshman Democrat from Alabama, will announce today that he’s switching parties to become a Republican.

Griffith’s party switch comes on the eve of a pivotal congressional health care vote and will send a jolt through a Democratic House Caucus that has already been unnerved by the recent retirements of a handful of members who, like Griffith, hail from districts that offer prime pickup opportunities for the GOP in 2010.

  • Griffith Opposed Equal Pay For Women, Sided With Republicans Against The President's Recovery Plan, Voted Against The 2010 Budget Resolution, Rejected Clean Energy Jobs Legislation, Opposed Comprehensive Health Insurance Reform, & Voted Against Financial Regulatory Reform

Democrats lost nothing and the republicans are already rejecting him

  • Doesn't Spector believe in the Single Bullet Theory? (JFK's assasination) and didn't he create it? That's why I think he is a disgusting bozo.
But this former Democrat, now Republican guy Griffith sounds like an opportunist who doesn't really have any beliefs...he just goes with what will get him elected. @@

  • Anon, I agree with the vote on every one of those. The Lilly Ledbetter act is nothing but a boon to trial attorneys. So yes the dems like it.

  • I would say that it might just be a stunt to ensure reelection. I would be cautious.
