almost 6 mth old not interested in bottle

my son is almost 6 mths old and for the past 4 days he hasnt been interested in his bottle the one day i figured out he drank 9 oz in 9 hours not sure if thats good or not but he doesnt drink like he normally does he takes a couple drinks then is done. He has been so crabby which i assume is because hes hungry so i have been feeding him baby food (vegtables) when he wont take his bottle. He just seems to want to eat food not the bottle is that normal for this age? should i be feeding him food for breakfast lunch and dinner and bottles in between? i do give him cereal with fruit every night a hour or two before bed

  • Are you sure you have the right nipple on the bottle? Go to a fast flow one,he may be struggling to pull the milk out and getting frustrated.

  • You could try giving him solid foods more often during the day. Maybe he's not getting satisfied or staying full for long enough on the bottle so he is refusing it in protest.

You could try giving him a sippy cup too. Maybe he's wanting to be like everyone else.

  • first of all take the bottles. Teach him to drink from a sippy or straw cup. This will be the perfect time if you wait you'll be sorry. Feed him more baby food and give formula in the cups.

  • he should be getting nutrition from breastmilk/formula. food isfor fun before 1. i'd stop cereal as it is empty filler. chage the nipple size or use a sippy.

  • yea i thought he was too young to not be drinking mostly formula thats why i was a bit concerned. I have tried going to a faster nipple but he doesnt do so well with that. And hes working on the sippy cup when i feed him cereal or any other foods instead of giving him a drink from the bottle i let him try the cup hes doing ok with that thanks for all the advice!
