  • they make locks that are basically buckles, one side sticks to the lid one to the can and buckles together, they call these cabinet locks though works great

  • We got one at Target that you have to push a tab to open it... it works great with my son who kept getting into the garbage.


    And we have another one that is a bit smaller that we got from Bed Bath and Beyond and it has a lock thingy http://www.bedbathandbeyond.com/product.asp?order_num=-1&SKU=14922865
