  • There's nothing to get rid of viruses, so all you can really do is wait it out.

  • Nothing. You are just masking the symptoms. Not healing him. It has to run its coarse

  • It has to run it's course, but it could be more than a cold. If it gets higher than 103, you might want to take him to the doctor just to make sure. Antibiotics will get rid of it if it's a bacteria, but it's not going to be instant.

  • Unfortunately there is not much that you can do but let it run it's course. My DH wasn't feeling well during the birth of our DD, said he felt dizzy, stomach hurt - the nurses thought he was just being a wimp. One finally took his temp - 102 - and gave him a mask. That is likely what you will have to do. The best thing that you can do for the baby is breastfeed because you will be supplying a ton of antibodies that will help with fighting off whatever DH has.

Just as a warning, they might not let him into the hospital if he is running a fever. I hope he feels better soon! Best wishes for an easy delivery.

  • Ya stop giving him stuff that is just going to prolong the virus. Lots of fluids, lots of vitamin C, lots of sleep. Good luck mama hang in there!

  • Get him some Elderberry syrup. The FDA criticized the manufacturer of Tamiflu for "overstatement" of claims of efficacy, since blind studies comparing it to a placebo only resulted in a 1.3 day difference. A study on Sambucol (Elderberry) found a 3-4 day difference in duration of symptoms.

  • If he is fever-free for 24 hours without any fever reducing medication, isn't coughing or having phlegm running out of his nose, then he can be with you in the delivery room. They may still allow him in there if he is still coughing so long as he wears a mask.
Call your OB and the L&D department in the hospital to ask about this one and to find out the protocol. I'm sure today's circumstances have influences how these things are handled now.
I'm praying for his recovery. Keep him hydrated, rested, elevated, and let it run it's course.
