  • My oldest walked at 18 months, my younger son is 10 months and walking, but not very stable yet. There truly is a big age range in which children reach various milestones.

  • My son walked at 11 months. I think it depends on how much moms work with the kids along with how devolped the kid is. Kids will do things when they're ready.

  • Some are lying. My son did walk at 7 months ran by 10 but my daughter who is 8 months now is just barely crawling. Babies do things at their own pace.

  • My son tried walking just before his first birthday, but stopped and didn't try again till he was 13 1/2 months, and wasn't sturdy till 14 mos. But he was standing at 4 mos (holding onto things, of course) and crawling at 5 1/2 mos. I don't think it has much to do with, as a PP said, how much you work with them, but it is all about when they WANT to do things. Some babies just want to walk more than others. My son was perfectly happy with crawling for months and months, and I think that is why he was a late-ish walker. But they say that the average age is 12-18 mos b/c they don't want moms taking their kids into the doctor at 12 mos. b/c they aren't walking yet - it is perfectly acceptable for them to walk earlier or later than that.

  • My dd is almost 10 months and she is now only just 'trying' to pull herself up to the couch. My kids all walked closer to a year. My cousins baby is a day younger than my dd and he is already standing up on his own when and where he pleases.

  • Mine both walked about 14-16 months. I don't know anyone IRL whose child walked that early.

  • The average age is 9-15 months. I only know one child that walked at 9 months.

My first 2 were walking right at their first birthday
My 3rd was nearly 14 months old.
