Jesus in Christianity

Do Christians believe Jesus spoke as an infant? I know that in the Holy Qur'an, we as Muslims believe he spoke as an infant so I am wondering about Christianity because the religions are so close in beliefs.

Do Muslims believe Jesus spoke in the cradle? YES

"Then she (Mary) pointed to him. They said: โ€˜How can we talk to one who is a child in the cradle?' He (Jesus) said: โ€˜Verily! I am a slave of God, He has given me the Scripture and made me a Prophet; " (Holy Qur'an Surah 19 Aya 29-30).

Thanks everyone. Please be forewarned : Any comments bashing Islam will be deleted. Let us practice some tolerance, ok Ladies?

  • No, mainstream Christianity doesn't believe that He talked as an infant. I am not sure if some of the gnostics believe that or not???

We believe that He was a normal child. In fact, when He began His public ministry He taught in Nazareth, the people there remembered Him being a normal little boy. When He was teaching they basically rejected His authority, saying, "is this the son of Joseph?" I think if He had talked as an infant and been a mini adult they would have paid close attention to His ministry.
