  • We're having:

    turkey
    ham
    mashed potatos
    turnips
    carrots
    sausage dressing
    stovetop dressing
    cranberry sauce (home made)
jellied cranberry sauce (from a can)
    home made buns
    pumpkin pie
    lemon tarts
    saskatoon pie

and of course there's meat and cheese trays with pickles and crackers
    dainties (home made)
    various chocolates and candies

There'll be 10 - 12 of us depending if our niece brings her boyfriend and if we have any "stragglers" - people who have no family to go to or have to work that day and can't get to their families. We usually have 1 or 2 of those, and with all the food we'll have the more the merrier.

  • over the years of having to see both Grammas on Christmas we had Christmas brunch at homethen went visiting. Now that Kitten and Pumpkin are grown we have brunch the Sunday before Christmas because Pumpkin lives across the state from us and Kitten shares Snoots with his dad on Christmas. Christmas day hubby and i plan to go to a movie and fix something simple. We open a gift on Christmas morning and spend the day just enjoying being a couple again.
Hubby makes his fancy lacy pancakes and we decorate them with pudding, yougart, fruit or jelly. we have bacon, ham and sausages. we also have biscuits and i make scrambled eggs and cheese.

  • oops I am getting use to my new laptop. it does weird things. the pancakes and stuff are what we serve at brunch. This year I took Pumpkin, her girlies and Snoots to MI for a classic Thanksgiving dinner. Only 29 of us were able make it to my cousin's home.

  • We have ours on Christmas Eve (so no cooking or cleaning on Christmas!) But we are having spiral ham with my homemade glaze, herb roasted turkey, twice baked potatoes, baked sweet potatoes, brussel sprouts in browned butter, corn, rolls, cranberry sauce, gravy, cornbread dressing, pecan pie, banana pudding, and brownies. To drink we will have Pink lemonade kool aid (per my DD's request lol), Dr Pepper, Cherry 7 up, and champagne or wine.

  • We are having: Spiral sliced ham, fruit salad, potato salad, broccoli with cheese sauce, rolls, veggie and olive platter. And for dessert apple pie with ice cream and a platter of fudge and cookies. Keeping it a lot more simple this year, I am tired of cooking.
