Thawing My Turkey...

Is it safe to thaw my turkey out overnite in the sink?

  • Wait, you are just now thawing your turkey?? Well I guess it depends on where you are as to what time it is there and how big it is. Seems like mom was going to start thawing hers on Monday or Tuesday I think, but that is because it is recommended to thaw it in the fridge to avoid a lot of bacterial growth. Good Luck.

  • I remember reading something somewhere that said to put your turkey in a paperbag if you leaving it out.

  • I've done it and it turns out fine. Go ahead - you don't really have a choice now. That's the only way it will thaw for tomorrow,

  • No it is not safe to do it in the sink unless you want to get up every 30 minutes to change the water to cold again. You should of started thawing out your turkey it depends on how big by Monday or bigger by Saturday.
