I have had my tongue pierced for 5 years, I woke up this morning and it hurts so bad. How can I help with the pain? Will it go away?

  • I got a new barbell a week ago but it hadn't hurted at all til today... I don't know what's causing it but it's painful.

  • Go to the doctor it could be the bar or it could be infected.

  • Could be that the bar is lower quality metal than you had before or that it has an imperfection that is irritating your piercing. I would switch it back to the old bar or a new high quality one, then rinse your mouth with warm water periodically to see if that helps.
