How do they work exactly? What is it's purpose? What does it do?

  • It makes it so you can take your laptop from room to room or outside without being plugged in. Beyond that, I haven't a clue. I just bought the Linksys thing and called Comcast and now I can wander.

  • It is like the old rabbit ears. Instead of focusing the signal, it broadcasts it. You put a "lock" on it so others can't jump on your broadcast signal and slip into your computer.

  • Wifi makes it so that laptops not directly connected to the internet become connected. Routers are used to help the connection.
