How Much is a Handmade Cashmere Scarf Worth?

I want to know how much a handmade cashmere crochet scarf is worth. How much would you pay for one?

  • Ideally, You should take the cost of materials and triple it. But in this economy, I've only been able to get double my materials.

  • There are a few formulas for pricing things and I'm assuming you made this so here's what I do:

    For higher quality/more expensive materials I do 2 x materials cost + [wage (what I pay myself per hour) x time (how long it took to make) = Wholesale Price

    For cheaper materials I do 3 x materials cost and it seems to work.

    Many people I know add in a profit % but I'm happy where my prices are.

    So to summerize : Materials X 2 + (wage X time) = price

  • Oh and I should add for higher quality materials I pay myself I higher wage which is why I only charge 2 x materials for higher quality materials.
