Ever heard of fetal hydrops?

My friends baby has this and the docs only give it weeks to live.. she is 20 weeks along.... If so, what was the situation?

  • Yes, I have. I'm a NICU nurse. One of the doctors at work compared it to congestive heart failure in a fetus.

  • my son was born with it and docs told us he would most likely pass before birth or shortly after. Luckily our little one is a fighter and he is now 20 months and perfectly healthy. If anyone wants any info or has questions email me at princesstara61@yahoo.com.

  • I just got the news yesterday. I'm 16 wks & my baby apparently has hydrops & cystic hygroma. The Dr barely explained anything and told me that the best option was to terminate the pregnancy. I can't do that so I'm just going to let it run its course and try to find a dr that can give us more details of size & why it being caused. Today I'll have an amnio done to see if it because of chromo abnormalities. Whish you the best, it's hard I'm completly confused & emotionally drained. Mari
