any landlords out there? i was just wondering something would like your input.

ok i live in a house built in 1800's and now we found out we have lead paint and my son age 4 now has to get blood drawn every 3 months ( he is ok by doc standers ) anyways the state is now involved to make sure lead is taken out, and they sent him an app for the money he needs to get the work done but LL gave us a huge appliction saying they want to know our income. but looking at the paperwork it keeps saying homeowners signature, or bank info, also what the morgage is here and if its up to date i say its LL paper work he needs to put his info ( including social secerity # ) and its not for us. were not getting the loan he is. i said to dh i think he wants us to fill it out so we get the loan not him..i am calling the department later today to ask what this is all about. and why they would want our info we dont own this palce he does. what do u guys think? what would u do. would u fill out?

  • It sounds like the home is not classified as a Non-Owner-Occupied and doesn't want to get caught by the mortgage company. It is THEIR responsibility to get the loan for the work that needs done, NOT yours. Do NOT put any of your information on those forms or you will be financially responsible.

  • nope. Definantly do not fill it out! Since he is the owner, it is his responsibility to take care of the problem. If you do not own the house... never put any of your information on anything for that house. It will end up costing you money and/or time in the end, and not the person who is actually responsible.

  • Like everybody else said, do not fill out those forms and give them right back to your landlord because it is his responsibility as the owner of the property, not yours.

  • ok.. give the paperwork back to your landlord...it is NOT yours to fill out... my dh is a landlord... it is not your job to fill out those papers.. if you have to fill out paper work it will say "Tenant" on it somewhere...
