  • early would be aroud 7-8mos. later walkers are usually around 16-18mos---but all still "normal."

my son started taking steps around 9 1/2 mos. and had it down pretty well by 10mos.

  • Both of my children walked at around 9 months. I would consider anything prior to 9 months "early" and anything after 12 months as "late". But that is just my opinion.

  • My first walked at 13 months. Second is 9 months and close to it. I would say before 10 months is "early" and after 18 months "late"? Just guessing here... not sure what would be considered "late" developmentally.

  • DS#1~10/11mths
    DS#2~18mths
    DS#3~11mths

Each child is different but they would probably say average is a year to 18mths. I just went by my childs abilities not what anyone else said.

  • #1 son--11 mo. (he never crawled, just scooted on his tummy for a while then walked)

#2 son--15 mo. (he's now 15 yrs old & in varsity track; totally had NO interest in walking for a long time. loved to crawl)

#3 daughter--12 mo (crawled for a while, cruised the furniture a bit, then walked)

#4 daughter--10 mo (she crawled for exactly 2 mo. then just stood up one day & walked..never "cruised" furniture or anything)

#5 daughter--11 mo. (she didnt really crawl either..but she was a month premature so I suspect if she'd been "on time" she would have walked at 10 mo. like her sister)

  • My daughter just turned 1 and she hasn't made any attempts to walk without help. It's so FRUSTRATING.

  • My DD didn't start walking until like 2 weeks after her first birthday. The average age a baby walks is 12 months, so I'd guess anywhere b/t 8-16 months is normal.
