does anyone know how to fix an xbox360 game?

DS got a bunch of video games for his xbox360 for Christmas well less than an hour into one of the new $60 games the freaking console scratched it! He wasn't even in reach of it and was the only person in his room so it was NOT his doing, he called Microsoft and they told him since it is out of warranty (2 years old) they can fix it for $120+ shipping both ways and they are not responsible for the game getting ruined! Does anyone else have experience with this issue and/or know how to fix a game? The local game shop says they can fix scratched across a disk but not the circle one it made.

  • Wow. I don't know, but I would not have him play any other games until he knows. I wonder if something was put into the machine accidently?

  • We had that happen and had to have the xbox serviced but we had the extended warranty. You need the extended one with these stupid xbox 360's. We have 2 and have had to have them serviced 3 times on our white one and now the elite is going in for the 2nd time..ugggg.. Take the game to game stop and see if they can referbish the disk...or try to take it back to store and say it was scratched from the beginning..

  • It sounds like the scratch is too deep to be fixed. This happened to one of ours; we just bought a used copy of the game. Is the Xbox standing up or laying flat? If it is standing up, it can scratch games.

  • If you still have the receipt, take it back and exchange it for a different game.
