  • The fruit of the spirit are those traits that GOD PRODUCES IN US.  I emphasize that because we christians spend so much time and energy trying to "be good", to produce these things on our own and it just doesn't work.  True freedom and growth comes from surrender and submission.  Look at your lives, christians, are you the same as you were when you first became a believer?  I hope not.  If you look at the areas you have grown in, the areas where you have become more Christlike, and where you are experiencing peace and joy, that is God at work in you.

  • These two verses come to mind when I hear "fruit of the Spirit":
Galations 5:22-23...The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, generosity, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

Matthew 7:16-20...By their fruits you shall know them. Do people pick grapes from thornbushes, or figs from thistles? Just so, every good tree bears good fruit, and a rotten tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a rotten tree bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit will be cut down and thrown into the fire. So by their fruits you shall know them.
