How far along do you need to be when you can have a regular ultra sound rather than a transvaginal one?

  • The first time I saw my baby, he was 11 wks and it was "regular" ultrasound. I've had two since, totalling three. I've had transvaginal one prior, but that was because they thought something was on my ovaries or something.

  • i was 6 weeks 2 days with a reg one at 5 week they did the other one

  • they due from 5 weeks to 12 an then 12 after outside the belly because anything under 12 weeks it too small they need to go vaginally

  • i had a transvag one at 8 weeks to confirm everything and make sure we could see the heartbeat. i just had my second which was the other kind at 19 weeks to check growth and try to find out sex
