If my period is heavy and somewhat irregular every month will it make it harder to concieve?

  • Irregularity doesn't affect your fertility (unless there is some underlying medical cause for it) It will only make it harder if you are trying to plan sex around when you ovulate. However, if you are just out to enjoy the process and not wanting to plan the sex then it will probably work out fine. I'm irregular and got pregnant very easily. Good Luck.

  • How heavy your period is has no bearing on anything. Having an irregular period can make it harder to plan a pregnancy since you don't ovulate at the same time every month, but you can chart to get around that. (Toni Weschler's book Taking Charge of Your Fertility and the website are great resources to get you started on charting and getting to know your body in general.) It usually doesn't indicate any kind of fertility issues, though.
