Should I go to the ER or wait it out.

I'm 6mth preg. & about 6 hr.s ago I started having some pain in my ear.

Not bad just a little achey. I thought it could be the start of a tooth ache or something so I didn't pay it much mind.

Later I sat down with my husband & children to eat our dinner & when I went to swallow the first bite I nearly gagged because the pain was so bad both in my throat & ears that I could barely swallow. My ear felt like it was burning. I have had many ear infections & never felt pain like that.

My reg. DR wont be open until Monday.

I'm already starting to feel worst, hot, dizzy, head ache, more pain. Should I nip this in the bud & go to the ER or wait it out until Monday & see if my DR can squeez me in?

I'm also concerned about getting on antibiotics ASAP so that I won't get my 3yr old& 1yr old sick too. Not to mention my husband who's a great source of help for me right now. What to do? Any suggestions?

  • I think it's an ear infection I get them all the time. That's what I was thinking but didn't want tocome off as panicked when I went to the ER. It's just that until Monday is a long time to wait to see a DR in my opinion esp. while preg.

  • Call your doctor and ask them what they think there should be somebody to talk to that is on call that will give you a better idea. Feel better.

  • You can do home remedies (safe while pregnant~ although I do them when non-pregnant, too!).
Try gargling with warm salt water (get it deep back into your throat.)
Use olive oil ear drops with garlic (mullein if you have it, too).
Breastmilk is excellent, but not everyone has access to that, exactly, lol.
