6 year old is having phonogram problems

He is in K and i have no patients. How do i find out how he and his brother learn? He is 6 his brother is 5. he is falling behind and we are worried that he will not pass to the first grade. His brother is learning what we are teaching the older one. The younger is in preschool but we couldnt afford for the older to go and now he is suffering. I am confused as to why he is not picking it up. HELP PLEASE

  • He is still fairly young. Sometimes they don't develop at the same pace early but will catch up if not exceed later on. Just keep helping him, talk to his teacher if you need to. Don't get too worried, and they should not hold him back that young because he can still catch up later on.

  • Talk with his teacher and see what she/he says. If she's not overly concerned, then you probably don't need to be either. Kids learn at different paces.

    If the teacher seems concerned, every state provides additional help for students, especially younger ones. You should check into it and see if he qualifies for the additional help.
