How do you make shepard's pie? Why does mine always fall apart when I serve it?

  • I USE GROUND MEAT,CORN ,MASH POTATOES THEN CHEESE ....IT DONT MATTER IF IT FALLS APART .....AS LONG AS YOU CAN EAT IT ..ITS ALL GOOD!

  • I think it falls apart when the meat part is moist. But in my opinion that's what makes it taste better. If it stays together perfectly, it always looks so dry.

  • try to reduce the liquid in the meat a bit and let the casserole stand about 5 min before serving

  • It's not supposed to stay all together in a nice square. It's supposed to ooze out onto the plate, "fall apart".
