I want to lose 50 lbs....anyone tried any diets that worked?

I've done slimfast in the past and also worked out and lost some weight also took diet pills. I want to lose weight fast don't have a gym membership and work full time and have a 2 year old...need some advice..

  • Trying to lose weight fast is pretty much a guarantee that it will come back. The only TRUE way to lose weight and keep it off is to change your lifestyle completely and the pounds will come off in a healthy and more permanent way. Eating healthy, exercising, and getting plenty of rest are the keys. Joining a group for support and to learn how your body works and what your weaknesses and strengths are is a great idea. Weight Watchers, Curves, or something like that can be a big help. Good luck!!!

  • Curves is great, but it sounds like you dont have much time to go to a center. I do Tony Hortons 10 minute trainer, it is soooooooo easy. I do have to get up a little earlier, but only 30 minutes or so. Plus I really watch what I eat, smaller portions more frequently. Good luck!

  • I love the flat abs diet.. it is REAL food that you make and can eat out and everything.. the problem with like weight watchers and nutri system is you arent going to eat their food forever, or weigh your food forever.. so as soon as most people stop they put on alot of weight again..
    Get the flat abs diet book or the eat clean diet.. They are both amazing!!

    it will give you ideas how to lose and keep it off and also tracks your weight.
    Excercise is also important, sometiems even more so then food!

  • News flash, losing weight is hard work! If you want to look like shit then yes diet and loose weight quick, then gain it all back when you go off the diet. You can't find 30 minutes in your day to work out?

    And you shouldn't use your child as an excuse to why you don't work out, it's tacky and frankly she should be the reason you DO workout and get healthy.

  • Diets and diet aids are temporary fixes. Unless you learn how to eat healthy for life, you will not be able to maintain a healthy weight and will stay on the gain/lose roller coaster - frustrating for you and hard on your body. Drink at least 8 8oz glasses of water every day. Eat 6-7 servings of whole grains (brown rice, whole grain bread, etc.) every day. Eat 7-8 servings of fruits and vegetables every day, in at least 3 different colors. Eat at least 2 servings of legumes every day. You will lose weight. You will have more energy. You will maintain a healthy weight. You will get sick less often. You will be setting a wonderful example for your children.     Eat an apple or a big pile of vegetables before meals.

  • drinking water first thing in the morning and taking "B" vitamans will jump start your metabolism, also excercise 30 minutes before eating

  • change your lifestyle - DIET just puts you into the mind set that you have a set time period and will go back to old habits. change your life and how you treat your body

    drink water first thing, and eat a good hearty breakfast.
    exercise at least 15 minutes a day. even if its taking the stairs, or parking at the opposite side of the parking lot. little things you can do to make a difference.
