Are your tweens this observant?

SS (11) just told me, "you've got bags under your eyes. They're big. There's like two under each eye." I'm not sure how to take that one...

  • Wow! I am no sure if I would have been offended or not. But unfortunately, my 9-year old seems to point out the obvious as well. Don't worry, they are only being brutally honest. Someday, you'll miss that about them and wonder where the innocent child went. Until then ... hang on ... it's gonna be a wild ride!

  • Yep - they also point out new gray hairs, extra hair on my lip, if my make up runs, the extra flab around my bra line, etc.

Im soooo proud at how observant they are - rolling eyes

  • Oy, my daughter tells me I dress like a bag lady. Which, unfortunately, sometimes I do ROFLMBO. I think observant is a good thing. Rudeness is not and I would make sure he knows that. And to think very seriously before saying something they may hurt another person.
