How do I get dark hairdye out of my white porcelain sink?

I dyed my sisters hair the other day with temporary hair dye. I did her hair in my kitchen because my bathroom is kind of small. Whenever we were done, I took the clips I used and washed them in the bathroom sink and then set them on the back of the sink. Well, obviously, I didn't get all of the dye off, because there is a huge brown spot on the back of the sink now. I googled my dilemma, and I've tried fingernail polish remover, rubbing alcohol, and peroxide. None of them worked even a little bit, and now I have a headache from the fumes. :(

Anyone had this problem before?

  • Go to a beauty supply store (like Sally Beauty Supply) if none of these other options work. They sell hair color remover specifically to be used on skin and it does work. It's also safe and none irritating and not very expensive.
