  • Just because they are a mammal doesn't make them human. Even their intelligence level won't make them human. It makes them very intelligent Dolphins. I couldn't pull up the website so not sure what the point is either.

  • Dolphins practice midwifery! They assist their friends giving birth and studies have shown their social network of who will help with the birth is very complex. They understand an experienced birthing assistant. Very cool.

I think it would be great if they got some more protection because there is no reason for humans to interfere with them in the wild. They are not a food source. We don't need to kill them for any resources.

In the future they may become great partners in technology. Swimming with dolphins has been proven therapeutic.

  • It has been proven that their intelligence level is higher than humans. Just because we can not understand their language does not mean we should think they are less intelligent. I think it's a great idea.

  • I regard all mammals as non-human persons and deserving of respect. But sweet-a- kins is right, they should be treated as dolphins and not trained to act and behave in human ways

  • I love dolphins, and think they are awesome, cool, friendly, smart and fascinating beings...but aren't PEOPLE people by definition? What would be the point in trying to refer to dolphins as "persons"? It seems a little silly to me.

And AngelDawn7, I am sorry, but I have to ask...what evidence can you provide that a dolphins intelligence level is higher than humans. I find the notion completely laughable. Again, no disrespect to dolphins, but their intelligence is not on par with homo sapiens.
