House warming party

Do you only have a house warming party when you buy a house?
Or is it ok to have one when you are renting & out on your own for the first time ?

  • You can have it when your renting. I figured you have one for every new place that you live at.

  • I guess you can do what you want. But I always thought it was for owning a house. Inviting people over to a place that is finally yours.
