????s about shih tzu with breathing problems

I have a 5 mo old male shih tzu. Got him at 10 weeks and noticed a little bit of a weeze every once in a while.I knew dog breeds with short noses would do that so I didnt think it was anything to worry about. The last few days I have noticed that along with the weezing his breathing gets really fast like he is hot. He has is own a/c and plenty of water. It reminds me of a child having an asthma attack! I an really worried! He has a vet appt. next Tuesday. But is there anything I can do to help him feel better or what should I do if it gets worse before I get to the vet.

  • Mine did that when he was a puppy a couple of times. He may have a respiratory infection or something. Just ask the vet on Tuesday.

  • I would take him to the vet. Our shih tzu had to have some kind of nasal surgery because not enough air was getting in. That may be the problem. It wasn't a real huge, expensive surgery either.
